PRIVATE LENDER OPTIONS
In order for us to provide a clay court club with low annual membership fees and a low member/court ratio, we need the help of private lenders in our tennis community.
Initially, we are offering three levels of lender packages: Monte Carlo, Roma and Roland Garros. All of the packages offer lenders significant compensation for their contribution. We project loans will be paid back in full within six years.
Please consider supporting this private lending initiative to help build a jewel in our tennis community.
EIGHT CLAY COURTS IN VICTORIA
Our plan is to establish a clay court tennis facility behind the Cedar Hill Recreation Centre in Saanich. We believe that an eight-court tennis facility with an adjacent player pavilion would:
1) Provide the Greater Victoria tennis community with a central location to meet, play and enjoy a club-like atmosphere.
2) Be a perfect surface for our Pacific Northwest climate - allowing play during light rain, and soon after even a heavy rainfall.
3) Provide a soft, natural playing surface that is easier on the body than hard courts.
4) Provide a venue large enough to host tournaments at one site.
5) Provide Saanich with much-needed court time for its public tennis programs.
We have drafted a detailed, viable proposal that we believe will succeed in a relatively short time frame. The support we have received so far has been overwhelming, and has helped us tremendously to advance our plan.
We have had several meetings with Saanich planners and parks and rec managers as we prepare to embark upon the official approval process that begins with a formal Saanich public open house as early as June.
We have presented to the Quadra Cedar Hill Community Association and will work with them, other local community associations and organizations to ensure we have broad public support for this project.
We invite your comments and questions below (only available from the Cedar Hill Clay Court Proposal link on the left of the page).
This page will be frequently updated with new information about the project.
